Dr John Read

John is the Founder and CEO of the Thylation group of companies. John has been responsible for the development of the Felixer from promoting the concept and securing funding to organising trials and initial sales. John has a PhD in Ecosystem Management, has published over 120 scientific papers on ecology, threatened species and feral cat management and authored 4 popular books including ‘Among The Pigeons, why our cats belong indoors’.

John was a cofounder of the Arid Recovery, Wild Deserts and Mallee Refuge conservation projects, and he is Patron of the Tetepare conservation project in Solomon Islands and chair of the Warru (rock wallaby) Recovery Team. You can read more about John Read on his website

Andrew Burnard

Andrew joined Thylation in December 2022 to manage the day to day activities of the Thylation Commercial Group of companies.  Andrew comes to Thylation after a long career in both Corporate and SME environments. He continually reviews and challenges the status quo to deliver continuous improvement in customer experience, while maintaining a keen focus on operational efficiency to ensure long term sustainability for our customers and key stakeholders.

Being solutions focused to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes while ensuring a high degree of empathy, trust and respect are values maintained throughout his career.   Andrew can be contacted through the ‘contact us’ section of the website.

 

 

 

Thylation Limited, trading as Thylation Foundation, is the not for profit company established to develop, incubate and commercialise conservation innovations. The Foundation sources grants and donations to advance the company’s objectives and is a 37.78% owner of Thylation Operations Pty Ltd and Thylation R&D Pty Ltd. 

Thylation Foundation is a charity registered with the ACNC and is authorised to collect donations for our charitable purpose as defined in our Constitution, from all States and Territories across Australia (QLD:CP6554|TAS:C/10924|NSW:CFN/25752|WA:CC22794|VIC: FR0015833|SA,NT,ACT:n/a).  

Thylation Limited and its public fund were successful in our recent application for entry on to the Register of Environmental Organisations (REO), making us a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) from 12 December 2022.  Donations made to the public fund from this date are eligible for a tax deduction under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

Anthony Lele

Anthony is a Melbourne-based entrepreneur, product development specialist and experienced business developer.
 
 
 
Anthony is Founder and CEO at Automation Acoustics, a company applying Ai and machine learning innovations to industrial acoustics monitoring and analysis; and principal of Consau, a technology refinement and commercialisation strategy consultancy with extensive experience in advanced 3D metal printing and processes.

Elaine Bensted

Elaine is Chief Executive of Zoos SA, which operates both Adelaide Zoo and Monarto Safari Park.

Previously she was Chief Executive at TAFE SA following prior senior roles in state and local government.

Elaine is Vice President of Zoos & Aquarium Association (ZAA) and Chair of their Finance and Audit Committee. She is also a Board member of the Children’s University Advisory Board, Uni SA Business School Program Advisory Board, The Australian Rhino Project Board, World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) Membership & Ethics Committee and Environment and Sustainability Committee, Treasurer and Board member of the Regional Development Australia Murraylands and Riverland Board and member of Adelaide University’s Environment Institute Advisory Board.

Her experience also includes a wide range of private sector roles in the financial industry.

Geoff Thomas

Geoff is an experienced company director, in listed, private and not-for-profit companies. He has been, or is, a director of both established and start-up businesses. Geoff has previously managed private equity and venture capital funds, with around $60m under management. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a former state councillor of the AICD. He brings a broad range of experience in capital raising and corporate governance. Geoff is also an advisor to Thylation Ltd.

Patrick Trutwin

Paddy has a degree in finance and previously worked at Westpac in equity and managed portfolio trading. Paddy is now enjoying the role of Australian General Manager at LRI Media Group. He has a keen interest for sports, management and conservation and adds a strong financial mind and youthful flare to the Thylation Commercial board.

Tim Piper

Tim has been a career finance professional with over 40 years of experience in wide ranging finance industry business segments.  His career included a period of international focus, including Asia, along with time working with a mid-tier domestic bank. Tim undertook multiple leadership and responsible person positions during his finance career, retiring in 2019 and commencing a small consultancy firm. Since 2019, he has consulting in multiple industries and has provided advice to various non-for-profit entities. Along with being a Director of Thylation, Tim holds other directorships in private companies.
